Technical Notes is an area for detailed documentation regarding work done on a portion of the project. This section is important as if another person has to join the project, they will need to refer to these notes. Some examples are: The creation of custom modules and their file names, customizations performed to stock code segments and all details concerning the customization, segments commented out, bugs resolved, and more.

The task list is a break down of the overall project. Particular segments can be worked upon by multiple Consultants. All hours worked on a project will be documented here, and their completion will also be noted here. Bug work will be noted in here along with what section it pertains to.

The Proposal is a document containing detailed information about the purpose of the project, the goals of the project, and how the ARC department intends to meet the projects goals.

The Technical Specification is a detailed document with information pertaining to the specifics of how the projects goals will be met. This section will include information regarding extremely specific information that the client may not need to know, but are important reference items for future review of the project, or should another individual get involved.

The Work Order is an outline version of the steps the ARC department plans to take in order to satisfy the needs of the client, simplifying the review process.

The Invoice is a document containing the work completed, the hours logged for each different segment of the project, and the total costs of the project upon completion.

ArtSplash Phase II

Artsplash is a comprehensive guide for teachers involved in imparting educational services in the discipline of Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts. The grades for which the teachers will be able to use this online application are scalable from Grade K through 12.

Course Progress Notification

Course Progress Notification (CPNote) is an early identification and intervention system to be utilized by the University Studies department at Portland State University.

CP Note is designed to enable faculty to communicate concerns, and refer and connect students to campus services and resources. Where appropriate, the system will be used to provide feedback to a student about her/his progress in the course.

Learner Web Reporting

The Learner Web is a learning support system providing structure and resources for adults who want to accomplish specific learning objectives. A learner can access the system through the Internet. In addition to on-line resources, the Learner Web integrates support services from existing local education programs, community based organizations, tutors, and telephone helpers.

ARC is working on the reporting aspect of this program.

Metropolitan Knowledge Network

The Metropolitan Knowledge Network will be an internet resource for informational and statistical data on the Greater Portland Metropolitan Region. The website will act as an interface for data to include maps, spatial data, tabular data, and data “extracts” from external data sources that are relevant to the region or related to topics presented.

Creation of dynamic mapping interface to display dominant surficial materials of the united states.

Oregon Encyclopedia

The Oregon Encyclopedia Project seeks to be the first ever Oregon encyclopedia, and will include coverage of significant people, events, places, institutions, and more in Oregon's history. The OEP will cover such topics from as far back as 10,000 years ago, to the present.

OTREC

Designing a website including a project management system for general use by the OTREC staff.

PSU Portfolio

The PSU Portfolio describes how PSU is meeting its mission to "enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic qualities of urban life."

Rogue Map

Safer and Stronger

Safer & Stronger is to be a web-based informational survey for handicapped women who are at risk of physical or mental abuse by care providers, family or others in regular contact with them. Safer and Stronger was originally a desktop based survey, however the new online version will feature storyboard changes, and will feature adjustments to take advantage of current web technology.

Students First Success System

Students First Success System website is about helping students gain a better grasp of resources to help them through their years at Portland State University. This site was built from the ground up and has a content management system, all developed by an outside contractor.

TEXAQS (Tramp Phase II)

Creation of a simplistic GIS that will initially focus on data uploaded during TRAMP Phase I, but will also include newer data sets.

Tramp

The TRAMP project (TexAQS II Radical Measurement Project) seeks to create a webpage where a multitude of specific users can access and add data from the TRAMP component of the TexAQS II air quality study. It will enable the users to merge, download, visualize, and get statistical analysis of the data they and others in the study have observed.

The TRAMP component of the TexAQS II air quality study contains a wide variety of information. The project seeks to enable users to access and share their data and the data others have. The database will also enable those involved in the study to use the advanced Geographical Information Systems to analyze their data. These tools will facilitate superior levels of interpretation of the information, than typically available.

Travel Grants

Travel Grants will be a web-based application for the Office of Graduate Studies. This application will replace the current paper-based process for applying for grants. Applicants submit proposals for grants to cover costs for official travel purposes. With the new application, applicants will have the ability to upload necessary forms and documents electronically. They will also be able to view their application status in real-time and receive notifications related to their application approval/rejection. All reviewing, approvals and rejections of applications will happen online via the application.

Walk of the Heroines

Design and implementation of a website for The Walk of the Heroines (see description below). This website will also be used for the on-site kiosk. The main sections of this website will be the Heroine Profiles, which will feature each Heroine including a bio and photo.

The Walk of Heroines:
The Walk of the Heroines is a collaboration between Portland State University and the City of Portland. The innovative park is located at the juncture of Portland State University and the South Park Blocks. The Walk pays tribute to the rich spectrum of women's activities, honoring women from diverse backgrounds and giving visibility to their achievements.

Academic & Research Computing is working to provide the highest quality computing resources in support of the PSU research community.ARC currently offers a broad range of software for research
